Ahoy friends,

If you know me, you know I love a good story—and if that story happens to involve fast boats,
flying drones, and a dip beneath the surface to explore the third largest barrier reef in the
world… well, even better.

This summer, I’ve had the absolute joy (and occasional adrenaline spike) of capturing footage
from just about every angle possible—from the sky to the sea floor. And while I typically lean
into storytelling first, I thought I’d take a moment to highlight something a little more technical:
the unique services we offer here at Purple Turtle Productions.

Specifically, our work in drone videography and underwater filming—two tools that help us
tell stories in ways you truly have to see to believe.

Flying Fast and Filming Faster

During production of The Boatbuilders docuseries, we captured some jaw-dropping scenes with
our drone —including an Outerlimits performance boat going 100+ miles per hour across open
water. We also filmed on board at 140 MPH with a GoPro. It was wild!

We also captured the launching of rebuilt sailboats during the IYRS graduation ceremony in
Newport. After months of hands-on work, students proudly launched the vessels they restored,
marking a powerful transition from classroom to craftsmanship—and we were there to film it all
from above with the drone.

You’ll also find a drone-only thank you video we made for the towns of Bristol and Newport,
featured on our website—just a small token of gratitude for their support during the filming of
The Boatbuilders.

Right now, we’re wrapping up yet another drone project for our fundraiser, Row For Life, which
should premiere this September. By the way, we are planning a row next summer to raise money
for cancer patients, their families and homeless individuals in the Fall River area. Want to follow
along or get involved? Visit rowforlife.org as the event grows.

Diving Deeper for a Good Cause

Filming underwater is something we LOVE to do. Whether it’s a family memory in your pool, a
training video in a lake, or a reef conservation shoot in the ocean, we’re ready to gear up.
This coming January, I’ll be returning to Turks & Caicos to film the breathtaking barrier reef,
part of our effort to help protect the third-largest reef in the world. A preview from our last trip is
available on our website under the “Portfolio” tab. It’s part of our commitment to environmental

storytelling—using film to bring fragile ecosystems into focus and help preserve them for future
generations.

Closer to home, we’ll be diving in Mount Hope Bay this summer to produce a short promotional
video. Keep an eye on our site and social media in early September for the premiere.

Have a Project in Mind?

If you’ve got something worth filming—above, below, or anywhere in between—we’d love to
help you capture it. Whether it’s a one-of-a-kind business shoot, a community event, or a passion
project, we’ll bring the gear, the team, and the sunscreen.

Until next time keep your sails up, your lens dry, and your stories rolling.

Catch you on the dock,

Gregg
