The Story of Purple Turtle Productions, Inc.
In January 2005, Purple Turtle Productions, Inc. officially launched as a registered business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Gregg Seibert, founder and lifelong dreamer, has always been a hard worker with an entrepreneurial spirit. He was slinging newspapers at 12 and running a carpentry and roofing biz called Seibert Industries by 19. That one… didn’t exactly stick. (Turns out ladders aren’t Gregg’s happy place.)
But it wasn’t until he earned degrees from Plymouth State and Emerson College that he found his true calling: producing meaningful, engaging video content that connects people and ideas. This passion coincided with the birth of Purple Turtle Productions.
Why Purple Turtle Productions?
Purple Turtle Productions got its name after Gregg was inspired by a local nonprofit, the National Marine Life Center, and their work rescuing and rehabilitating cold-stunned sea turtles. His original idea was “Sea Turtle Productions,” but it felt a little too plain for a creative company. Inspired by his alma mater, Emerson College—whose colors are purple and gold—Gregg landed on Purple Turtle Productions: a fun, creative twist with the resilient sea turtle at its core.
Gregg’s first big project was an educational kids’ program with (you guessed it) the National Marine Life Center. Cool Stuff: Sea Turtles of the Northeast was born, followed by Cool Stuff: Dolphins. From there, PTP grew into a full-service production company, creating hundreds of commercials and corporate programs for local and national businesses and nonprofit organizations, helping them reach their audiences.
Today, PTP continues to evolve—most recently diving into long-form storytelling with The Boatbuilders, an original docuseries currently in production.
What’s Next?
PTP’s mission is simple: Tell stories that matter. Help people doing good work. That’s it. No fluff. Just honest storytelling with heart, humor, and a little bit of turtle magic.
